However, the "X parasite" takes on the form of Samus through the infected armor, akin to The Thing; SA-X. While the real Samus is weakened without any powers, SA-X stalks the space station like a predator. This is where our story begins, as Samus is sent to the same space station to investigate a catastrophic explosion.
As mentioned earlier, Metroid Fusion focuses much more on the storyline, leading the player by the hand more; it is more linear compared to the previous Metroid games where you are, so to speak, thrown into the deep end and have to figure out where to go on your own. Personally, I much prefer a playstyle like Metroid Fusion's.
By the way, SA-X truly hunts Samus throughout the story, who is no match for this super-parasite. This makes Metroid Fusion not only the classic platformer/shooter game we all love, but also a horror game, where the player actually has to flee from SA-X. It genuinely creates thrilling moments; a unique experience on the GBA!
In any case, like every Metroid game, Metroid Fusion is very impressive. From the visuals to the animations; everything is polished to perfection.
So, are you ready for a horror/platformer/shooter game starring our great friend Samus? Yes? Turn off your
lights, grab a fresh pair of underwear, and enjoy this spooky masterpiece this summer.
