After the first six levels, there's a level where Mario has to guide the Mini-Marios he's collected back to their toy box.
And once you've done that, you'll face off against Donkey Kong.
This may sound simple, but it's not, as the emphasis in this game lies on the puzzling aspect. Even though the game starts off easy, the levels get more and more challenging, and there will definitely be moments where you'll need to stop and think. And once you figure out how to solve a level, you'll also need to execute it, requiring a bit of skill in the game.
However, don't be discouraged by this, as I personally find these challenges enjoyable. When you complete a level, it gives you a sense of accomplishment, especially if you achieve a high enough score to earn a star.
At first glance, the game may seem relatively small with six worlds, but don't be fooled, as after you finish those, there are another six worlds waiting. These worlds shake things up a bit and introduce new gameplay elements, providing a nice change of pace.
In addition to these new worlds, there are also twelve expert levels that you can unlock by earning stars in the previous levels. If you haven't found the game challenging enough so far, I'm almost certain that these levels will give your brain a good workout in a fun way.
Finally, this is a game that keeps up with the times, like almost all Mario games. It boasts a great soundtrack and vibrant, colorful visuals.
All in all, I consider Mario vs. Donkey Kong a true gem. It's a game that challenges you in a fun way and provides plenty of enjoyment, and to be honest, I might even like it more than the later Mario vs. Donkey Kong games.
