Old-school gameplay with a new twist
The gameplay might still resemble the old 16-bit style, but Rayman sports an updated look that closely resembles the console version of Rayman 3. His hair is slightly longer, his nose a bit bigger, he traded his iconic red scarf for a small red hood, and his animations have significantly improved compared to previous games. The environments generally look good, although they have a more rugged feel than the levels seen in Rayman Advance. The only area where Rayman 3's gameplay seems to fall short is with some of the enemies, especially Razorbeard's robot henchmen, whose animations appear pompous and jerky. The sound of Rayman 3 is reminiscent of the sound in earlier Rayman games, with a dreamy, abstract soundtrack to enhance the rather surreal appearance of the game, and it works quite well. I recommend this game to any fan of the series!

A great addition to your collection!
Rayman 3 holds a shared place with Rayman 2 because they are such great games. I've been a Rayman fan since I was 8 years old, starting with Rayman 1 on the Gameboy Advance and now I'm already at the game Rayman Legends. If you're a big Rayman fan, this is a great addition to your collection. The nostalgic feeling is a bit stronger on the GameBoy than on the computer, so definitely recommended for sentimental gamers like myself ;-)
