The sequel to the game where it all began
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is the sequel to the very first Zelda game for the NES. It's very different compared to its predecessor, which makes it a very fun and good sequel!

The goal is to explore the land of Hyrule and defeat all 8 bosses in the 8 castles. In these 8 castles, there is always an item that is necessary to progress. You can only advance in the castles by defeating enemies and finding keys. Besides the items in the castles, there are also secret items hidden around the land and in the villages of Hyrule. In these villages, there are wizards or swordsmen who give you extra types of magic or teach you new sword techniques. (e.g. being able to aim your sword downwards to defeat spiky enemies.) Usually, you have to do something first before you can reach the wizards. Oh, you only have a limited number of HP and magic. Items can also be found to upgrade these.

The battles are also different from most other Zelda games. It goes like this: the battle begins, enemies come at you from the left and right. You have to kill them and quickly reach the exit, which is all the way to the left or right. Then you're safe again!

Well, I've said everything now. The game is very fun, challenging, and full of secrets. But sometimes, it can still be a bit difficult. Nevertheless, I still give it a 9.4!

Adventure!
This Zelda is different from part 1. Now you only look at the world map from above. In the villages and dungeons, you view from the side.

The dungeons are complete mazes and very extensive. On the world map, you are suddenly drawn into a short battle with enemies that appear, just like in a real RPG.

A unique Zelda that is very different from the other Zelda titles. However, this does not take away from the fact that Zelda II: The Adventure of Link really evoked a sense of adventure in me!

A must-have!
The graphics were impressive for their time on the NES and they retain these high-quality graphics on the Game Boy Advance. The game features great music, which might not be as catchy as in other Zelda games, but is still very good. The original save system is also intact, no matter how annoying it is to use. During each playthrough, you get three lives - and only three lives - in each game. If you die, you can save your progress, but you have to start from the beginning every time. You still have your inventory, but you need to go back to where you were when you started. This was already annoying on the NES, and it's no different on the Game Boy. In the end, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is a game you definitely should play, which is why I give it a 9.

I had a lot of trouble defeating the final boss in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. By using a glitch, you can easily defeat the final boss.

Stand crouched in the corner and keep hitting with your sword. Watch the video.

If you don't want to use the glitch and prefer to face the challenge, you can also jump towards Dark Link and try to hit him on top of his head. Use Thunder if you still have magic left.
